Free Yoga Classes
Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning "to join." It is a practice that joins, connects, or unifies the physical body, mental body, and spiritual body. Throughout each session, you will learn the different "asanas" or postures using proper body alignment techniques through various sequences. You'll have opportunities to build on your practice, increasing your strength, improving flexibility, coordination, and balance. Each class will also focus on breath work and allow you to explore your mind to discover more about yourself and get in touch with who you are; improving focus, mental clarity and your overall sense of well being. You'll also discover the countless health benefits of yoga including lowered blood pressure and slower pulse rate, improvements in digestion, the immune system, sleep, and managing stress.

The Recreation department offers FREE adult weekly classes. Classes are 60-65 minutes and are for all levels, whether you are beginning and brand new to yoga or have been practicing for months or years. Each session will include various styles of yoga including gentle, hatha, and vinyasa. Please bring your mat, water, and any extra layers (sweatshirt, blanket, etc.). For any questions, please contact recreation@lowellma.gov

Please enter the school on the left side of the building when you arrive.

See you on the mat!
