Zumba - Zumba IN PERSON Free Zumba ClassesZumba includes music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training. A combination of salsa, meringue, and hip hop, Zumba provides a cardio and strength workout.Interested in learning Zumba? The Recreation department offers free lessons through one of our recreation partners.Please note that lessons are typically 40 minutes in length, and are offered weekly for Adults.
The Boarding House Park Zumba program will be held outdoors. If possible, the Lowell Recreation office will have staff on site to accommodate for kids who may be accompanying their parents. When you register please indicate if you plan to have your children in attendance. If there is no interest in having staff on site for kids then we will not plan to have anyone but the instructor present.

Yoga - Yoga Free Yoga Classes Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning "to join." It is a practice that joins, connects, or unifies the physical body, mental body, and spiritual body. Throughout each session, you will learn the different "asanas" or postures using proper body alignment techniques through various sequences. You'll have opportunities to build on your practice, increasing your strength, improving flexibility, coordination, and balance. Each class will also focus on breath work and allow you to explore your mind to discover more about yourself and get in touch with who you are; improving focus, mental clarity and your overall sense of well being. You'll also discover the countless health benefits of yoga including lowered blood pressure and slower pulse rate, improvements in digestion, the immune system, sleep, and managing stress.The Recreation department offers FREE adult weekly classes. Classes are 60-65 minutes and are for all levels, whether you are beginning and brand new to yoga or have been practicing for months or years. Each session will include various styles of yoga including gentle, hatha, and vinyasa. Please bring your mat, water, and any extra layers (sweatshirt, blanket, etc.).
